Digifest is a senior showcase event for Digital Media students
In Digifest, seniors have the chance to meet and connect with potential employers. It is a great opportunity for the students to highlight themselves. They showcase their accomplishments and network with professionals in the industry. The aim is to create personalized invitation cards to invite potential employers to attend Digifest. XMPie variable data was used to create personalized invitation cards. To make these cards personalized, the name of the employees, tagline, and image change based on the industry.

For this project, I worked with my teammates and decided to choose the Vibrant concept because of its energetic, spirited, and dynamic expression.
To make the postcard personalized, creating a database was an essential part of it. Reference USA was used to collect data from our targeted industries and 47 clients were found. This spreadsheet includes information about the company name, client’s name, addresses, positions, and genders.
The lead designer of the team created abstract shapes using Adobe Illustrator to stick with the vibrant concept, which gives the freedom to present the concept meaningfully.
Adobe InDesign’s built-in XMPie was used to make these postcards personalized. The images change based on the industry type and employee gender, for example, if we want to send a postcard to a female employee in the photography industry, then the image in the postcard will be a female photographer to catch the potential employer’s attention and encourage them to attend the Digifest.
Awarded third place in the University of Houston Redfest award ceremony. The University of Houston Redfest is an annual award ceremony, in which all Digital Media students get an opportunity to participate in it. Students get the chance to submit their best project that they are proud of.
