Project Overview

The goal of this project is to observe how social media can influence physical activity among young women of color. This research aims to determine whether Instagram can positively influence Black and Latinx women’s adherence to physical activity.

Logo Design

The purpose of using the logo is to use it as a profile image on Instagram, a t-shirt, and a water bottle for this project. However, while designing the logo, I paid attention to Instagram the most because the project team is going to use Instagram to conduct the study. The Instagram profile pictures are enclosed in a circle, which makes it difficult to view the image. Keeping that in mind, I approached making the logo to make it noticeable on Instagram.

Instagram Posts

The goal of this project is to observe whether Instagram can positively influence Black and Latinx women’s adherence to physical activity. To achieve that goal my teammate and I created Instagram images that focus on different body shapes among young Black and Latin women. We post images on the Instagram that was created for this project three times a week.

Monday Posts: Images focus more on working out and body positivity.

Wednesday Posts: Images focus more on meeting up with friends and having fun exercises.

Friday Posts: Images focus more on making healthy diets.
